Topic: Integrated Business Software and Project Management: One Company’s Perspective
Abstract:
H.W. Lochner is a national transportation engineering consultant providing professional services to federal, state, local, and private clients.
All of our work – from bridge and roadway designs to asset management– is in the form of Projects. Consequently, HWL emphasizes PMP certification for its managers.
To improve performance and strengthen project management, three years ago, we invested in an integrated business application program. The Company’s PMPs quickly understood the software’s operation and capabilities based on its relations to the Project Management Body of Knowledge concepts and processes.
As PMI PMPs and Lochner Project Managers, Doug Burton and Mike Galbraith will demonstrate the relations between the business software modules and the PMBOK processes per initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing projects.
So, if you or your firm are considering a software solution to help run project-oriented operations, this presentation will help you learn about some considerations and comparisons to make before you decide.
