Topic

Building Systems Commissioning for Project Managers

Abstract

Widespread interest and increased implementation of the commissioning process for new and existing building systems requires project managers to gain an understanding of this quality assurance methodology. Whether driven by sustainability goals such as USGBC LEED Energy & Atmosphere, Prerequisite 1 – Fundamental Building Commissioning and Energy & Atmosphere, Credit 3 - Enhanced Commissioning, or by application of industry best practices, this presentation explores facilitation and coordination aspects necessary to implement successful commissioning procedures. Independent third party information available from commissioning agents adds a powerful capability for effective planning and management of building construction and turn over. With an informative informal approach, Jim Adams and Jim Magee will discuss basics of the commissioning process and emphasize integration, cooperation and utilization of commissioning with project management.
